My son sleeps through now

He’s four, eczema since birth, used to wake twice a night scratching. A month in, he sleeps through.

Third winter, no splits

Kitchen job, hands washed forty times a shift. They’d crack open every December. Not once this year.

Elbows have gone smooth

Eleven years of plaques on both elbows. The scaling lifts now instead of catching on jumpers.

Between flares is the point

I still use my prescription when it flares. This is for the weeks in between, and there are more of those now.

Six tubs.
None of them lasted.

The eczema itch wakes you at 3am
Relief lasts an hour, then it’s back

Your steroid tube says “short courses only”
Psoriasis plaques catch on your sleeves
You hide your hands in photos
Why the others failed

Flare-prone skin
leaks water.

A weak barrier can’t hold it
The problem

A weak barrier can’t hold it

Eczema- and psoriasis-prone skin loses water fast. Ordinary creams are 60–80% water themselves — it evaporates within the hour and the tightness and itch come straight back.

Seal it, and it stays sealed
The fix

Seal it, and it stays sealed

Méliora has no water at all. Beeswax and shea form a barrier that survives a hand-wash, so one morning application is still working at bedtime.

Our story

It started with
one bad winter.

The Méliora family

Our founder’s daughter was three when the eczema got bad enough that she slept in mittens. The chemist shelf gave us fifteen tubs, a fridge full of half-used creams and the same hour of relief every time.

A beekeeper in Somerset suggested propolis — the resin bees seal the hive with. We made the first batch in a kitchen: raw honey, propolis, unrefined shea, beeswax. No water, so nothing to evaporate. No fragrance, nothing to sting.

Four ingredients. That’s still the whole formula, and it’s still made in the UK in small batches.

FAQs

Quick answers

Will it cure my eczema or psoriasis?
No. Both are long-term conditions with no cure. Méliora is a moisturiser — it keeps the barrier from drying out, which is standard advice alongside prescribed treatment. Keep your prescription.
Is it safe for my child?
The ingredients are simple and fragrance-free, which is generally what you want on a child’s skin. It contains honey and bee products, so patch test first, avoid it for anyone with a bee allergy, and ask your GP or health visitor before using it on a baby.
Can I use it with my steroid cream?
Yes. Leave 20–30 minutes between them, and follow whatever your GP told you.
Will it sting?
No fragrance, alcohol or preservatives. But it contains bee products — patch test on the inner forearm first.
Can I use it on my scalp?
Yes. Work a small amount into the dry patches, leave it an hour or overnight, then wash as normal. It loosens flaking rather than sitting on top of it.
Will it hold up if I wash my hands all day?
That’s what the beeswax and shea are for — the seal survives a hand-wash better than a water-based cream. Reapply after washing anyway; it’s a barrier, not armour.
Is it greasy?
For ten minutes, then it settles to a soft matte. Use half what you think you need and warm it first.
What does shipping cost?
Free worldwide on 2 jars and above; single jars are charged at a flat tracked rate shown at checkout. UK 2–3 days, Europe 4–7, rest of world 7–14.
